Sports shoes from a 3D printer, with grooved soles, were worn by the models at the show of the latest men’s collection of the Dutch fashion house Botter. The shoes were created in collaboration with Reebok and manufactured by HP in Barcelona using a Multi Jet Fusion 3D printer.

The Reebok x Botter Sneaker comes in solid color or two-tone gradients. The inspiration for its thick, grooved sole was the purple shell (ie the shell of the murex family from which the dye is also derived). Each shoe was hand-painted with colors to tie in with the navy and coral tones that characterized Botter’s AW23 collection.

“The design began with a structure that mimicked the growth of shells,” said Botter. “We ended up with shell purple, in terms of the final design inspiration. We loved that it was an object that the goddess Aphrodite used to comb her mane,” they added.
