“Hamilton”, one of the greatest musicals of all time, by Lin-Manuel Miranda will embark on its first UK tour. Theater producer Cameron Mackintosh said there would be a new troupe “to bring this great show to our biggest cities”, alongside the London production.

“The visit to Scotland will be perfect,” Mackintosh added, because “Hamilton’s real story started in Ayrshire, Scotland, where his father was born in the 1700s, before moving to Nevis in the West Indies.”

The first stop of the tour will be Manchester on November 11th. It will be on stage at Manchester Palace for 15 weeks and then run at the Edinburgh Festival Theater from 28th February to 27th April.

The musical about the fascinating life of Alexander Hamilton has been playing in London since 2017 and is currently booked until March 2024, according to the Guardian.

It premiered in 2015 at the Public Theater in New York and has won awards and distinctions including the Pulitzer Prize for the best dramatic production of the year, 11 Tony Awards, 2 Grammy Awards and 7 Olivier Awards.
