A new hotel has recently occupied the bank headquarters in downtown Los Angeles: Hotel Per La is housed in the neoclassical Giannini Building erected in 1922 as the headquarters of the Bank of Italy. Its 930 square meters of space was revitalized by interior designer Jaqui Seerman, drawing inspiration from the building’s connection to Italy.

“A nod to the building’s historic beginnings as a people’s bank, the name ‘Per La’ translates to ‘for them’ in Italian,” the hotel said. “(The bank’s) founder, Amadeo Pietro Giannini, believed in the dignity and capabilities of those who are often neglected, expressing the hotel’s inclusive spirit and brand, which basically means ‘for Los Angeles and for people like you.’ “, they added.

Dining options at the hotel include ‘Per L’Ora’, which serves Italian cuisine and is characterized by a soft color palette in decorative elements influenced by the early 2000s. ‘The restaurant bar acts as a spectacular main attraction, with order marble counter in green, gray and white shades,” said Hotel Per La. A specially designed game room creates an atmosphere for chess, backgammon or dominoes.
