Monsieur Plant: A special sneaker collection – The sneakers are made from mushrooms and natural materials

After the “Sneakerium” and “Retro Flower Sneakers” series, o Monsieur Plant is back rediscovering the beauty in the natural environment with a new collection of artistic athletic shoes. The new footwear, ‘carved’ from plant-based materials he collected in the heart of the Brittany countryside, emerges from a magical universe, the ‘Mushroom Party’. The variety and abundance of mushrooms in the area piqued the interest of the French artist, who gave shape to five fully vegetated sports shoes with mushrooms growing out of them.

The new sneakers are made exclusively from natural materials and plant parts. “Indeed, mushrooms perform essential ecological roles in natural ecosystems; without them, trees and plants would quickly die, suffocating in their remains,” notes Monsieur Plant. The cosmopolitan Christophe Guinet collected tree bark, moss, autumn leaves and mushrooms; playing with human codes and using symbols such as sneakers, he highlights the triumph of nature against modern ways of consumption.
