The Brussels Court of Appeal will consider whether Eva Kaili will remain in custody or not
The examination of the appeal of Eva Kailis and Mark Tarabella will begin shortly.
According to the lawyers of the two MEPs, Kaili and Tarabella are in the Brussels courthouse.
From early on, Mr. and Mrs. Messrs. Dimitrakopoulos and Delquan, on behalf of Eva Kaili and Mr. Toler on behalf of Mr. Tarabella.
The Brussels Court of Appeal will consider whether or not Eva Kaili will remain in custody, a spokesperson for the Brussels Court of Appeal confirmed, noting that it is a “closed-door” hearing. Besides, the Court of Appeal will consider the release request of the Belgian MEP, Marc Tarabella.
It is recalled that after the pre-trial council’s decision, on February 16, to extend Eva Kaili’s pre-trial detention by two months, her lawyer Sven Marie filed an appeal, which, according to the procedure, is heard within 15 days. The advocate of Mr. Tarabella had done the same.
Eva Kaili’s defense will request her release from prison with an electronic bracelet. In case the decision of the Court of Appeal is negative, Ms. Kaili will remain in custody for two months.
