The British singer, Ed Sheeran, announced that his new album, titled “-“, will be released on May 5 by Atlantic Records-Warner Music, while also revealing his wife’s significant health problem.

Having written over 30 songs during their many months of work in the studio, ‘-‘ (Subtract) will contain 14 songs, characterized by folk elements and full orchestral arrangements.

“I worked on ‘Subtract’ for a decade, trying to make the perfect acoustic album, writing and recording hundreds of songs, with a clear vision of what I thought it should be,” wrote Ed Sheeran, announcing the album.

“Then, in early 2022, a series of events changed my life, my mental health and ultimately the way I viewed music and Art,” he added.

Speaking about the events that shocked him, Sheeran revealed that his wife Cheri was diagnosed with a tumor while pregnant with their second child and could not undergo treatment. He also weighed in on the death of friend and SBTV founder Tzamal at the age of 31 and the trial over the paternity of his hit ‘Shape Of You’, which resulted in his triumphant victory.
