As Eilish explained in the interview she gave with her brother Phineas, what “frightens” her about the internet “is how gullible it makes you”
The American singer and songwriter declares that she is happier than ever Billie Eilish avoiding social media.
The pop star, speaking on Conan O’Brien’s ‘Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend’ podcast about her approach to social media, said she deleted relevant apps from her phone.
As Ailis explained in the interview she gave with her brother Phineas, what “frightens” her about the internet “is how gullible it makes you”.
“I believe everything I read on the internet. I! And I know it’s stupid and I shouldn’t do it because I have proof that it’s not all true. Almost none of this is true. They are, like little things, little innocent lies, that go over everyone’s head, but everyone believes them,” he said.
As an example, the singer mentioned that she was watching a video with her boyfriend Jesse Rutherford where someone she doesn’t know personally was talking disparagingly about her.
“He was saying that Billie Eilish is a horrible person. And then he explained why. The person looked like he knew and was saying all these things. It’s just such a crazy reality that I live in. It’s like, This is my face. That’s my name. This is me. Oh, interesting. Okay. Well».
Eilish also said she deleted all social media platforms from her phone, while admitting she “grew up in the perfect age of the internet”, not being – as she put it – an ‘iPad baby’ as she saw it transform into something another as he grew up.
