Funk artist MC Paiva, 20, ended up arrested last Tuesday night (7) after driving his Porsche without a license plate and crashing it into a police car in the city of São José dos Campos.
According to the Secretariat of Public Security, the young man would have defied the police officers who approached him. In videos circulating on social networks, it is possible to see that the military used force to contain the boy.
A bottle of alcoholic beverages was found inside the car, but after a test it was proven that the funk singer did not drink alcohol. At the time of the approach, still according to the PM, Paiva would have accelerated at a red light, which caused a malfunction on the side of the police car.
Paiva was taken to the Judiciary Police Center (CPJ) in São José dos Campos, where a Detailed Term was registered and forwarded to Jecrim. Afterwards, he was released.
Sought, the singer’s advice did not respond to requests. To G1, however, Marco Antonio Pereira, the artist’s lawyer, said that the musician did not react and that the police acted with truculence and excessive force in the neck and head regions.
Pereira claims that there was abuse of authority and that the approach only happened because his client was in a luxury car. About the crash, the lawyer says that it was the police who would have cut the path and thus caused the collision.
