The new season will premiere on April 14
Starz has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming second season of the half-hour sitcom “Blindspotting,” which will premiere on April 14, 2023.
The series, created by Rafael Casal and Daveed Diggs, follows the story of Ashley, played by Jasmine Cephas Jones, as she deals with her partner Miles being sent to prison. The new season picks up nine months after the events of the first season and promises to maintain its light and fun tone while tackling complex issues with a comedic and innovative twist.
In season two, Ashley is raising her son Sean alone while Miles, played by Rafael Casal, is serving his sentence at San Quentin Prison. The show’s second season promises to showcase the hilarious adventures Ashley and her family get into as she tries to navigate the crazy chaos of her life in the Bay Area. Meanwhile, Miles adjusts to life in prison and counts down the days before his first weekend of family visits at San Quentin.
Series co-creators Casal and Diggs are also executive producers and writers. Casal is also the showrunner and director of four episodes. The second season of “Blindspotting” will star Emmy winners Helen Hunt, Benjamin Earl Turner, Atticus Woodward, Jaylen Barron, Candace Nicholas-Lippman and Jasmine Cephas Jones.
The first season of the series debuted in August 2021 and received the best reviews, maintaining 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. The new cycle promises to continue to deliver the same level of quality, offering viewers a fresh and exciting take on the complexities of life in Oakland, California.
