For the first time in 60 years, the Oscars’ trademark red carpet changed color and yesterday all the stars walked and posed on a ‘champagne’ carpet – white for brevity.

Candidates and ordinary guests for the evening are literally putting their best – their best – to be precise – trying to win the coveted… title of Best Dressed!

So for this year, the ladies preferred impressive and classic, bright gowns, without clothing “extravagances”.

THE Lady Gaga (nominated for best song with ‘Hold My Hand’ from the movie ‘Top Gun: Maverick’) – who had said she wouldn’t attend but ended up going – stole the show in her brand new Versace creation – heavy, imposing but also sexy 80s glam – and stunning jewellery.

THE Rihannamade her debut on the 2023 Oscars carpet uncomplicated, albeit with a “belly in her mouth”, in a striking look: Alaia leather dress, with deep cuts and transparencies – what other pregnant woman would dare to do this?

In the best dressed of the evening and Angela Bassett – albeit with a look reminiscent of… Dynasty: she wore purple Moschino and received the best reviews (but then ruined it all with her nasty reaction when Jamie Lee Curtis picked up the Best Supporting Actress Oscar, for which she was candidate).

From the male presences that stood out the actor-activist and star of Glee, Harry Shum Jr., in an Adeam tuxedo. – a house mainly associated with women’s clothing.

Apotheosis for always flawless, ethereal and… relaxed Cate Blanchett, who “wears” the outfit and doesn’t wear it, even if it’s this particular custom Louis Vuitton ensemble, in shades of turquoise and black. She lost the Best Actress Oscar for “Tar” but won (again) impressions.

The supreme and Oscar Jamie Lee Curtis by Dolce & Gabbana creation, as bright for the evening and as sexy for her age.
