“I’ve always been a big fan of horror, especially when horror movies really scared you,” Slash said in a statement
Saul Hudson, known as Slash, decided to expand into the big screen by participating in the production of horror films.
The British-American guitarist of the iconic rock group Guns N’ Roses, for his new label BerserkerGang, collaborates with the best professionals of the genre such as Michael Past, James Flair and Andrew Thomas Hunt as well as director Rodrigo Gudinho and producer Pasha Patriki.
“I’ve always been a big fan of horror, especially when horror movies really scared you,” Slash said in a statement. “I want to get into the heart of production so I can try to make movies that I would want to see.”
Slash recently teamed up with Gudinho in the Nick Cutter-scripted film The Breach, which Patricchi produced. Slash wrote the film’s theme music and was an executive producer.
“The Breach” premiered at the Fantasia Film Festival in Canada last July and later played at the UK’s FrightFest. It is scheduled for commercial release later this year. This collaboration led to the creation of BerserkerGang as a vehicle for the group to continue their collaboration.
“BerserkerGang’s goal will be quality over quantity,” Hunt told Variety. “We will select projects that we collectively believe best represent the company.”
“Our goal is to develop projects with filmmakers and writers who are as passionate about genre films as we are,” Past said.
“The company’s tagline is ‘Films Forged in Fury,’ if that’s any indication of what we’re up to,” Guadillo said.
