The famous costume designer for film and television Ruth Carter (Ruth Carter) was awarded for the second time with the golden statuette for the sequel “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”.

Four years ago she won her first Costume Design Oscar for the film “Black Panther”.

“Thank you Academy for recognizing what a black woman is a superhero. She endures, she loves, she overcomes,” Carter said in her speech, adding:

“Ryan Coogler and Nate Moore, thank you for your vision…I share this with the many dedicated artists whose hands and hearts helped bring the Wakanda and Talokan costumes to life.”

The talented designer dedicated the award to her mother Mabel Carter who passed away at the age of 101.

“Last week, my mother passed away. This movie prepared me for this moment. Chadwick Boseman, please take care of mom. This is for my mother. It was 101,” he said.

As reported by Variety, in this year’s awards she was nominated among her great colleagues such as the Oscar-winning Catherine Martin (Catherine Martin) for the film “Elvis” and Shirley Kurata (Shirley Kurata) for the film “Everything”.
