“Team that wins…changes” pretty much says the “many” Dwayne Johnson. The Hollywood star criticized the new leadership of DC for “freezing” new “Black Adam” movies, as well as the plans for a “Black Adam”-“Superman” movie in Variety, while also commenting on the decision of DC Universe to oust Henry Cavill from the role of Superman even though his return had been advertised through ‘Black Adam’.

“All I could do, and all we could do when we were making ‘Black Adam,’ was to put our best foot forward and surround ourselves with the best, so we could deliver the best movie we could,” Johnson said.

“It’s almost like when you have a professional football team and your captain wins championships, and your coach wins championships, and then a new owner comes in and says, “Not this coach, not this captain. I will proceed with young people”» Johnson continued sharply, criticizing the decision of James Gunn and Peter Safran, who now lead DC Studios and are reshaping the DC Universe.

The two took over just days after the release of “Black Adam,” which heralded Cavill’s return to the role of Superman and promised a series of films featuring the two heroes. However, “Black Adam” did not do well at the box office, so Gunn and Safran will “freeze” Johnson’s plans.

“James Gunn and I had a chat and I learned that Black Adam it will not be a priority in their design,” Johnson told fans last December. “However, DC and Seven Bucks have agreed to continue to explore ways that Black Adam can be used in future DC multiverse films.”

Johnson added: “After 15 years of relentlessly hard work to finally make ‘Black Adam,’ I am very prouds for the film we delivered to the public”.

After the opening weekend of “Black Adam”, Henry Cavill had announced his return as Superman. Two months later, Gunn announced that Cavill would not be Superman in the new DC Universe as filming had already begun on a new younger Superman movie. That movie, “Superman: Legacy,” is slated for release in 2025.
