Netflix is ​​preparing a sci-fi horror film based on Chris Hicks’ short story “I Am Not Alone.”

The Oscar winner, Jessica Chastainwill helm the project, while Misha Green of HBO’s Lovecraft Country will executive produce.

The film will follow the story of a mother who starts seeing creatures due to her unbearable migraines. As she tries to protect her family from the threat, she realizes that she is the only one who can see them. The book is described as a unique science fiction story, which promises to offer a unique and exciting approach to the genre.

After a competitive bidding process, Netflix emerged victorious with a high six-figure deal, beating out four other major studios that were also vying for the project. Along with starring in the film, Chastain will also produce the film, along with Green and Kelly Carmichael.
