Natalie Portman sheds light on the history of the football team Angel City Football Club in Los Angeles, California, USA in the documentary “Angel City”.

HBO announced yesterday the new documentary series, which will tell the story of the Angel City Football Club team in the US Women’s Soccer Championship.

“Sometimes you have impossible dreams and you let them go and you’re like, ‘Oh, that’s stupid.’ But sometimes someone you love and respect tells you, ‘No, that’s a good idea. Keep going,'” Natalie Portman recounts in an excerpt from the documentary, which shows touching and triumphant moments behind the scenes and on the field as the team begins what the actress describes as “one of the most extraordinary adventures” of her life.

The documentary series takes viewers behind the scenes of the Los Angeles-based professional women’s soccer team’s rise to glory in their first season in 2022. The club was founded and is run by an all-female team, led by Natalie Portman.

Natalie Portman is an executive producer of the series and also participates in the episodes.

Other famous Hollywood actresses such as Jennifer Garner, Eva Longoria, Jessica Chastain and singers Christina Aguilera and Becky G have also invested in Angel City Football Club.

The three-part docu-series will be directed by Arlen Nelson and executive produced in addition to Portman by Jimmy Chin, Elizabeth Chai Vasarelli, Sophie Maas, Ana Barnes and Christine O’Malley.
