(News Bulletin 247) – Archos announced last night that it had sharply reduced its losses in 2022, thanks to its cost reduction efforts, which allowed its stock to progress this Friday on the Paris Stock Exchange.

The French electronics group recorded a turnover of 14.3 million euros last year, compared to 15.4 million in 2021, a decrease of 7%.

In a press release, Archos explains that this decline is mainly due to the reduction in the market for consumer tablets, sales of its B2B subsidiary Logic instrument registering an increase of 29%.

Its new health technologies platform, Medical Devices Venture, generated a turnover of 0.5 million euros in its first year.

Its operating income before amortization and depreciation (Ebitda) shows a loss of 2.8 million euros, against -4.9 million in 2021, while the net loss stands at 1.5 million euros, to be compared with -9.2 million euros at the end of the previous financial year.

The company – whose cash position stands at 12 million euros, down four million euros compared to the end of 2021 – ensures that it now has the means to deploy its strategic plan in 2023.

Archos – which explains that it conducts more than 50% of its activity in B2B in support of large accounts – says that it wants to accelerate the deployment of Medical Devices Venture and its innovative start-ups, but also to carry out external growth operations in order to accelerate its development.

The action, which has jumped more than 58% since the start of the year, still took 7.5% after these figures on Friday at the Paris Stock Exchange.
