Sharon Stone has revealed that in her 40s she struggled a lot with acceptance and growing up
Oscar-nominated actress Sharon Stone recently celebrated her 65th birthday, showing that time has not “touched” her. The famous actress was recently photographed for the cover of Spain’s ‘ELLE’ magazine.
The ever stylish Sharon Stone wore white Schiaparelli pants and a stunning Daniel Roseberry necklace for the photoshoot.
The Pennsylvania-born star shared her thoughts on aging with the magazine, confidently declaring: “I’m happy to be getting older and I feel fantastic. I’m more interested in inner beauty. It is important to have a philosophy or a way of life or a belief that keeps you balanced. For me, that was Buddhism. It really is the key to peace and beauty,” said the famous actress.
Sharon Stone revealed that in her 40s she struggled a lot with the acceptance part and the fact that she was growing up… “At 40 I went into the bathroom with a bottle of wine, locked the door and said, ‘I’m not coming out until I can accept completely my body,” he confessed.
“I am now so grateful for my body. When I was younger, everyone was telling me what was wrong with my body – a lot of this, a lot of that,” she added.

The actress has been a staunch supporter of cancer research, but also candid about her own health struggles. She had suffered a stroke in 2001, while in the same year she had surgery to remove a tumor from her breast.
At a charity gala she reminded those in attendance of the importance of getting mammograms and recalled her own experience when doctors told her they found a tumor that was bigger than her breast.
She said frankly: “If you open me up and it’s cancer, please take both of my breasts, because I’m not a person defined by my breasts. You know, that might seem funny for me to say, since you’ve all seen it.”
In addition to her acting career, Sharon Stone has ventured into the art world with her first painting exhibition, ‘Shedding: Sharon Stone’.
The exhibit is currently on view at the Allouche Gallery in Culver City, Los Angeles and runs through April 7th.
