Actor Nicolas Cage will be a father again at 57

At the age of 57, actor Nicolas Cage will be a father for the third time. The Japanese actress and dancer Riko Shibata, the actor’s wife, is expecting the couple’s first child. The information was confirmed by a representative of the artist to People magazine, who said that they are “euphoric”.

Cage met Riko in Japan through mutual friends when he was filming “Prisoners of the Ghostland”. They were married in a ceremony for few guests at the Wynn Hotel, in Las Vegas, in the United States, in February of last year.

The date of the ceremony was chosen to honor the birthday of Cage’s late father, according to People magazine. The couple exchanged Catholic and Shinto vows, a traditional Japanese religion. The bride wore a handmade bridal kimono in Kyoto, Japan, and Cage, a Tom Ford tuxedo.

This is the actor’s fifth marriage. On March 23, 2019, he married makeup artist Erika Koike, but four days later, he filed a request to annul the union — which was not granted. Two months later, Cage got a divorce.

The actor was also married to Patricia Arquette from 1995 to 2000; with Lisa Marie Presley, from 2002 to 2004; and with Alice Kim, from 2004 to 2016.

Alice and her son with Cage, Kal-El, 15, were present at the small after-wedding party, according to People. In addition to Kal-El, Cage is the father of Weston, 31, from his brief relationship with actress Christina Fulton.
