Amazon Prime Video has released the first trailer for the upcoming psychological thriller “Dead Ringers”in which she stars Rachel Weisz in a double role as twin sisters.
The series is a modern reimagining of David Cronenberg’s 1988 film and will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on April 21 in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
In the “Dead Ringers”, Weisz plays the dual leads of Elliot and Beverly Mantle, twin sisters who share everything, including drugs, lovers, and their willingness to push the boundaries of medical ethics to bring women’s health care to the fore. The series features a talented ensemble cast including Britne Oldford, Poppy Liu, Michael Chernus, Jennifer Ehle and Emily Meade. Six episodes are planned for the series.

The miniseries is created, written and produced by Alice Birch, a critically acclaimed screenwriter and playwright who has worked on popular series such as Normal People, Succession and The Wonder. Director Sean Durkin directed the first two episodes and co-directed the final episode of the series, while serving as an executive producer. The series was co-produced by Amazon Studios and Annapurna Television.
The release of the first photos for Dead Ringers has caused much excitement among fans of Rachel Weisz and psychological thrillers. Weisz is known for her strong performances in films such as The Favourite, Disobedience and Black Widow, and her participation in the series is expected to attract a lot of attention.
