Emily Ratajkowski announces that she will no longer work as an actress and reveals: ‘Hollywood is dark’

Fans of Emily Ratajkowski, 31, were stunned by a decision by the actress and model. This Thursday (6), the current affair of Harry Styles announced that he no longer wants to work in the field of acting and revealed the reason. She said she felt the sexism in Hollywood firsthand when auditioning to star in the film “Triangle of Sadness”, directed by Ruben Östlund. “I didn’t feel like an artist who was doing my job. I felt like a piece of meat that people judge, saying ‘does she have anything other than boobs?’

The situation happened three years ago. Emily didn’t play Yaya (South African actress Charlbi Dean, who died of sepsis shortly after being released) but began to pay attention to the people around her. The first measure was to fire her agent as she felt that she was making herself “digestible to the powerful men” of the film industry.

“I didn’t trust my team. I was always saying, ‘I can handle taking calls. I’m going to make certain decisions. None of you think about what’s best for me really. And you all hate women,'” he said in an interview with Los Angeles Times. Her relationship with ex-husband Sebastian Bear-McClard also weighed in on her decision. The producer and agent was recently accused of sexual misconduct, abuse and soliciting underage actresses on the sets of ‘Good Behavior’ (2017) and ‘Uncut Gems’ (2019), both directed by Josh and Ben Safdie.

“Maybe that’s why I’m not interested, right now, in the men’s point of view,” she adds to Los Angeles Times. “Because they were lies, and I’m not talking about infidelity. This is a fake world and Hollywood is dark”, pointed out the actress to later complete about her decision to no longer act.

“I feel that I am coming into myself, that I am able to claim what I want – something that seems to have just begun. Now I am understanding the my life as a creator and not as a muse”, concluded Emily, who starred in the films “Gone Girl” (2014), “Cruise: Fate in Collision”(2018), “Privacy Violated”(2018) and “Lying and Stealing”( 2019).

Emily was spotted making out with Harry Styles on the streets of Tokyo, Japan, in late March. Two weeks earlier, in an interview with the “Going Mental with Eileen Kelly” podcast, she said she had been dating “someone” for just over a month. “I just started dating someone I think I like so this is different,” she commented.
