Susana Vieira talks about the next soap opera at nine: ‘It’s the first time I’m going to do an old one’

Susana Vieira, who turned 80 last year, told Sheet that, when they want to offend her, netizens call her old. With gray hair, the actress returns to the small screens of TV Globo in the next nine o’clock soap opera and said to continue with joy and vigor. “It’s the first time I’m going to play an old woman, as if she were a person much older than I am, despite being 80 years old and not showing it”, she told the column by Ancelmo Gois, from the newspaper O Globo.

Susana Vieira will play the character Cândida in “Terra e Paixão”, a novel by Walcyr Carrasco that will replace “Travessia”. Cândida owns the bar in the fictional city of Nova Primavera. In the plot, she is the one who knows a secret about Antonio, Tony Ramos’ character, a farmer who lives a confrontation with the protagonist Aline (Bárbara Reis).

After two years without acting due to the pandemic, the actress is back and, for the first time, adopted gray hair to play a character. In the column interview, she said that when she dyed her hair, she thought it looked pretty. “I was scared, I had the trauma of white hair, I couldn’t have a centimeter, which I ran to cover. Several prejudices. But let’s be honest? If all women liked to have white hair, there wouldn’t be the big hair dye multinationals, right?” he said.

Vieira also reported that the two years without acting were “the weirdest” of his life. “Without the job, it felt like I’d fallen into a well,” he says. In 2022, she said she did theater plays in Portugal and Rio, but was interrupted by a serious case of Covid.

Last Wednesday (5), he returned to the studios. “It was the first day of meeting everyone. I was emotional and happy. I turned 80 and I’m still happy and vigorous. I also get upset, I get angry.
