“One Day at a Time – The Reality Behind a Diagnosis” is the name of the book Simony is releasing in e-book format to tell about her fight against bowel cancer, diagnosed in August 2022. The singer highlighted that the publication aims to encourage the public to take care of health. “My Instagram is not only for me to earn money, but also to save someone. I will not give up on living, on fighting and fighting for other people and for better care, because cancer cannot wait”, explained Simony.

During an interview with the program Encontro com Patrícia Poeta this Monday (10), Simony revealed that she felt very afraid and the biggest concern was with the possibility of the disease having spread to other organs. She even thought about passing custody of her youngest son, Anthony, 9 years old, to her mother.

“We need to understand that cancer is no longer a death sentence, you can cure yourself. We always think we control everything, I made so many plans and the universe changed everything. Today when I wake up I think: ‘Phew! Another day of gift for me’ “.

Simony also said that the support of the followers was an important step in her recovery: “I immediately received a lot of love. It helped me so, so much!” She discovered the cancer after feeling a lump in her groin. As her gynecologist did not identify any problems and the lump continued to swell, the singer decided to see a proctologist. The doctor then ordered a colonoscopy, which identified the disease. “I didn’t imagine because I have and always had a healthy life. But it happened, and I was taken by surprise.”
