A punk band from Germany has reportedly been banned from entering the UK due to changes in post-Brexit regulations. Stuttgart band Trigger Cut were scheduled to perform at seven UK venues this week but were denied entry to the country.

“We were not allowed to cross the UK border for strange reasons,” the band wrote in a Facebook post. “We needed a special sponsorship certificate, but no one knew beforehand, not even the club owners, the organizers or the German customs authority,” they said. And they added: “Brexit bureaucracy??? A nightmare after Brexit.”

The three-piece band also said the whole experience “at the UK border was humiliating and sad”.

In another post, the band explained that the UK authorities wanted to have “the so-called sponsorship certificate from all seven clubs” claiming that “this certificate is unknown even to the promoters”.

“No one knew!!” mentioned in the post. “We believe that we have never felt so humiliated, saddened as today” they noted.

“They handed us over like criminals to the French border police and we had to leave Calais,” they stressed.
