Clara Buarque defends Bia from ‘Travessia’: ‘She’s not a villain, she just fell in love with the wrong person’

The plan was to escape the artistic career. Daughter of Carlinhos Brown, granddaughter of Chico Buarque and Marieta Severo and niece of Silvia Buarque, Clara Buarque did her best. As a teenager, dancing, singing and acting was just for fun. The professional desire was to be a social worker or pedagogue.

But curiosity about auditioning for the musical “Novos Baianos”, five years ago, made her awaken to art and put an end to any fears related to her true vocation. Today, she is the Bia of “Travessia” (Globo). “It’s my first telenovela and it’s all magical, you know?”, says Clara to F5.

“I go and come back very happy from the recordings because it is the confirmation that I am following my path”, says the actress, who defends her character tooth and nail. From the synopsis, she already knew that Bia would arrive in the middle of Gloria Perez’s plot to disrupt the life of the main couple of the soap opera, formed by Brisa (Lucy Alves) and Oto (Romulo Estrela).

“I went in already knowing that Bia would be in this love triangle”, he comments. “Which woman or man likes to get involved with a person still connected in another relationship? Nobody. She fell in love with the wrong person, but she is not a villain.”

Missed matching part of the public. Recently, Clara went through an unpleasant episode because of fans of the #Brisoto couple, who became her “haters”. Romulo Estrela had to come out in defense of the actress, which made the colleague very grateful. “He was amazing. He’s already caught a few cross-eyed looks, but one never expects to be attacked.”

With a sweet and extremely polite voice, Clara says that she hasn’t finished recording all of Bia’s scenes yet and doesn’t want to give spoilers about the character’s future. Even so, she suggests that surprises will happen until the last chapters.

“I don’t think I can say anything (laughs). I hope she doesn’t end up alone. I hope someone appears for her to love and be loved”, comments the actress, who has also been auditioning for other productions.

Despite her famous last name, the 24-year-old from Rio de Janeiro says that she naturally faces this type of dynamic in her chosen profession. “I get nervous, of course, but it doesn’t bother me. On the contrary. It would bother me if I didn’t get tested because it’s part of the process. I’ve received many ‘no’s, even more than ‘yes’, but I think it’s very important and valid to be tested for a certain role. I love auditioning,” he says.

A trained actress, she also comments on the controversy over the casting or not of influencers in soap operas and series, which generated noise, for example, when Jade Picon was announced in a central role in “Travessia”. “I’m neither against nor in favor. I think that everyone places their trust where their intuition leads, right?”, She evaluates. “I think it has more to do with the person who places that trust than with the person who agreed to play the role, and that’s it.”

Also in the cast of two Disney + productions (“Tudo Igual Só que Não” and “Tá Tudo Certo”), Clara has the answer to who in the family is the most obliging about her work on the tip of her tongue. “My dad for sure,” she reveals. “He’s my biggest supporter. Since I was little, he used to say: ‘Daughter, you’re an artist, you’re a singer, you’re an actress, you can, you can do it’. He always saw the talent in me and he’s drooling too much to see me on the telenovela.”
