Marília Mendonça’s brother says that a singer is a star in the sky: ‘Look at her there’

After making a statement via a statement on the official website of the duo that forms with Dom Vittor, the brother of Marília Mendonça (1995-2021), João Gustavo, 20, made a post and used Instagram Stories to honor the singer, who died in an accident air this Friday (5).

“Brother loves you, rest in peace my princess,” wrote the young man on Saturday night (6), along with a photo with Marília. He also shared an image of the sky with a shining star and wrote “look at her there. You are my life”, accompanied by a heart emoji.

This Sunday morning, he posted a photo with his uncle, Abicieli Silveira Dias Filho, who was on the plane with the singer and was also one of the fatal victims of the accident. “I love you the size of the infinite sky,” he wrote.

Marília, known as the queen of suffering and one of the greatest voices in contemporary Brazilian music, died at the age of 26 this Friday afternoon. The information was confirmed by the Fire Department of Minas Gerais in a note sent to the press.

The singer was one of five victims of a plane crash that fell into a mountain range in Piedade de Caratinga, 309 kilometers from Belo Horizonte. The artist had a concert scheduled for the date in Caratinga, about ten kilometers from the accident site.

The fall occurred around 3pm. At first, it was not known if it was the singer who was on board the aircraft. It was the twin-engine resemblance seen in a video she’d shared on Instagram two hours earlier that sparked the doubt. In a comical tone, the publication showed Mendonça embarking and eating.

In addition to Marília and Abicieli, the following also died in the plane crash: the music producer, Henrique Ribeiro, the pilot Geraldo Martins de Medeiros and the co-pilot Tarcísio Pessoa Viana.
