BBB 23: Who are the ‘docshoes’, the fans who can make Amanda the winner of the reality show?

If the predictions are confirmed, the final of BBB 23 (Globo), which will have its result known on Tuesday night (25), should enshrine Amanda Meirelles, 32, as the big winner. The doctor is the favorite to win the BRL 2.88 million prize, which she disputes with singer Aline Wirley, 41, and actress Bruna Griphao, 24.

Unlike her opponents, the Paraná native was an illustrious unknown until she became a participant in the reality show. However, throughout the season, she conquered a fierce crowd, which did not let her get into trouble in any of the four walls she competed in.

They are the “docshoes” (combination of parts of the words doctor and shoe in English), the crowd that —for better or for worse— most moved social networks this year. For those who followed the previous seasons, it would be the equivalent of the “cacti”, which gave Juliette victory at BBB 21, or the “breads”, which crowned Arthur Aguiar BBB 22 champion.

Just open Twitter to see how much Amanda’s fans engage in each Paredão, raising hashtags daily, even if she is not directly involved in the dispute. O F5 talked to several of them, and what he heard most is that the doctor is the “human”, a woman insecure with her mistakes and successes.

Simone Ferrazini, 32, from Ribeirão Preto (SP), says that seeing her sister dealing with these issues helped her overcome self-esteem issues. “I’m a very insecure woman and, when I started to accompany her, I changed, I went back to loving myself and getting ready. I didn’t see myself. I started to love myself and my life more! Since then, I’ve been a someone else, a better person and, if I understand that, I want Amanda to realize that about her too”, says the businesswoman, who is married, mother of two and makes a point of helping in voting campaigns.

The profile of those who actively participate in these endeavors is varied. It is possible to see from young people with a lot of free time to women with consolidated family structure. This is the case of Elizabeth Porter, 51, who has lived in the United States for 25 years. “I found her funny and light. Then I saw great kindness and empathy in her. And I think that’s what the BBB is about,” she says, who also helps with the polls, as “it’s not a robot crowd.”

One of the most active profiles on this front is that of Maria Cláudia Lima, 29, who created the @suzzycomenta account just to talk about the reality show. Graduated from the Federal University of Roraima, the journalist and social media manager from Boa Vista liked Amanda from the first week, thanks to some funny phrases and because she helped Cara de Sapato (the “shoe” in “docshoes”) during some anxiety attacks.

“She played the BBB like chess, in quieter movements, gaining time in the game, combined and articulating group votes. With mistakes, yes, but in a respectful way. Not following the group when necessary. And, by helping Sapato. .. Even though she was a doctor, she was there far from the profession and showed humanity and acceptance”, she points out.

Unlike other “docshoes”, who would like Amanda to start a romance with the fighter —the fighter ended up expelled from the reality show for sexual harassment—, Maria Cláudia says she prefers that the two take different paths in this regard. Within the group itself, those who root for their friends to become lovers are called “whims”.

ROMANTIC COMEDY

The love issue, by the way, is important to understand Amanda’s favoritism in this Tuesday’s final – regardless of who each fan “ships” the doctor with. For most admirers, she has a personality that brings her closer to a romantic comedy protagonist, like “Bridget Jones’s Diary” (2001).

It is this character that Jennifer Ann Koppe, a specialist in audiovisual communication at PUC-PR and an admirer of the doctor, remembers when describing her. “She has the characteristics of a romantic comedy heroine, and it’s purposeful. It’s the kind of culture that she consumes, and she plays with it, it’s not a problem. She knows she’s clumsy and doesn’t always fit in, and we go through a lot for that in life”, he evaluates.

Add to that the fact that Amanda, despite being beautiful, friendly and intelligent, was not a declared target of any of the men in the program’s cast. Cara de Sapato himself, despite the fans, always said that the two are “best friends”. Even so, many believe that the doctor did like the fighter. The typical plot of the young lady who is not seen by the good guy, who only at the end of the film realizes that the two were made for each other.

For Jennifer, this journey is very similar to that of Turkish soap operas, a recent streaming phenomenon, in which the main couple doesn’t even kiss, sealing the relationship — as is the case with the two brothers. “There are dramas too, which teenagers love”, she compares, referring to series of Asian origin.

“There is a story of love and friendship between Amanda and Sapato that has the same characteristics”, he evaluates. “My generation, women in their 40s, have romantic comedies, while the younger ones go to Turkish soap operas. It ends up molding itself for everyone.”
