An association of a high-end condominium in Barra da Tijuca (RJ) is fighting a battle with the Latino singer, 50, in court. The latest move in the case, according to columnist Ancelmo Gois, was the filing of a petition for the attachment of all amounts that he has to receive from his songs on platforms such as Spotify, Google and ECAD (Central Office for Collection and Distribution ).

Since 2016, Latino owes around BRL 530,000 in late monthly payments for the property. The musician even had an apartment pawned because of this. When contacted, he and his lawyer did not respond until the publication of this text.

However, according to the newspaper O Globo, ECAD itself, organized by collective associations that work in the administration and collection of artists’ copyrights in Brazil, claims in the process that Latino has nothing to receive. He has no record of being linked to any copyright association.

This is not the first time that the artist has been involved in a lawsuit. In 2018, he was arrested by the Justice of Manhuaçu (MG) due to a child support debt with one of his daughters, then nine years old, the result of his relationship with Neusimar Consedei. The singer owed about R$60,000 and had no contact with the girl.

Already in 2021, Latino revealed in an interview with Domingo Espetacular (Record) that he lost a lot of money along his path and that he even made debts with loan sharks.

“I was wasting money on women and games. What complicated me the most was horse racing. I lost R$ 15 million at one time in my life and even got into debt, including with loan sharks. I spent a lot of time paying these debts”, he said.
