The unpredictable Kanye West, 44, is planning to travel to Moscow later in the year, according to Billboard, to offer his private “Sunday Service” concert and meet Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The music industry publication, which quotes West’s adviser Ameer Sudan, says the artist is working on new deals with Aras Agalarov – the Russian-Azerbaijani billionaire linked to Donald Trump – and the businessman’s musician son, whose stage name it’s Emin.
“He will be spending a lot of time in Russia,” Sudan told Billboard, which he says will be “a second home” for Ye, who legally changed his name last year.
Since 2019, the rapper has been offering “Sunday Services”, intimate shows reminiscent of Sunday church services, accompanied by gospel choirs.
Politics is no stranger to Ye. In 2020, he ran in the US presidential election as an independent candidate for the Birthday Party party.
In 2018, she met with President Trump in a surreal encounter that included a hug between the two and a speech to the chamber.
Nothing, not even travel restrictions or possible criticism of his relations with Russia, will make Ye give up, according to Sudan.
“Kanye knows what happens better than the average person, he is very aware of what happens. And he is not going against the United States or to cause conflict, but Ye is Ye, he cannot be controlled,” Sudan explained. .
