Piano City Athens having inspired thousands of people in Berlin, New York, Milan and other metropolises, Piano City has also arrived in Athens.
From today until Sunday, Athens will be transformed into a huge piano concert hall, in which classical, jazz, rock, and even ethnic music will resonate in various parts of it.
Piano City Athens is the first festival that literally happens across the city. Having inspired thousands of people in Berlin, New York, Milan and other metropolises, Piano City has also arrived in Athens.
In Piano City Athens the music does not wait for the public, but spreads in the squares, in people’s homes and in unconventional spaces. The sounds of the piano diffuse and change the entire cityscape.
Piano City Athens brings together people of all ages and interests through music on a very personal level through the piano.
During the 3-day festival the residents of Athens will enjoy a rich program with:
House concerts: Piano virtuosos and amateurs, selected by the artistic commission, will open their homes and hearts to the general public. They will demonstrate their skill and talent by giving small piano concerts in their homes with a repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary repertoire. Enthusiasts, as well as the general public, will have the unique opportunity to enjoy these melodic experiences. (Seat reservation required)
Piano concerts in public and private spaces: In addition to house concerts, piano concerts will be organized, literally, all over Athens. (Reservation of seats is not required. The closed areas will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis)
