‘The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’ is receiving rave reviews and could be one of the most awarded games of the year
Six years ago, Nintendo released one of the greatest games of all time: the “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild”. It was not the first time that one of the games in the “Zelda” series won this title.
In 1998, Nintendo brought the “Ocarina of Time”, a Nintendo 64 game that revolutionized 3D RPG titles. IGN called it “the new benchmark for interactive entertainment”, which could “shape the action RPG genre for years to come”. And it was true.
Years later, Rockstar Games’ former vice president of creativity, Dan Houser, stated that “anyone who makes 3D games and says they haven’t borrowed something from Mario or Zelda (on the Nintendo 64) is lying.” Hidetaka Miyazaki, creator of “Dark Souls,” said that “The Legend of Zelda became a kind of textbook for 3D action games,” while other creators and gamers still remember how the game changed everything.
With ‘Breath of the Wild’, reactions were similar. The game managed to improve upon several elements that players had seen in other games (probably inspired by “Zelda” itself), creating what several critics called a masterpiece.
GameSpot said it’s the most impressive game Nintendo has created, saying it “takes designs and mechanics perfected in other games and reworks them for its own purposes to create something entirely new.” But, if this is new territory, where can you go from here? The answer lies in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
‘Tears of the Kingdom’ was designed as Nintendo decided to create a new title, set in the same famous open world of ‘Breath of the Wild’, keeping many aspects of it, including its design, but with more elements, new mechanisms etc.
The new game is sure to excite you…
