The vote

The winning country of Eurovision 2023 will be chosen by 49.4% by five-member national judging panels and by 50.6% by televoting of the public.

Not only the 37 participating countries of this year’s contest have the right to vote, but also citizens from all over the world, who live in countries that do not take part in Eurovision 2023.

Russian citizens are excluded from the “Rest of the World” vote, according to the EBU (European Broadcasting Union), as Russia has been expelled from the international body because of the war with Ukraine.

Voting for the public will begin after the presentation of the last song and will last for approximately 40 minutes.

At the end of the televoting, the results of the Jury’s vote will be presented first, followed by the score given by the public. The country with the highest score is the winner.

It is noted that the jury and the public of a participating country cannot vote for their own entry.

Fotis Sergoulopoulos is the one who will have the role of spokesperson who will announce the 12 members of the Greek jury.

The show

The final will start at 22:00 (Greece time) with last year’s Eurovision winners, the Ukrainian group Kalush Orchestra in a performance under the title “Voices of a New Generation” which, among other things, will include the winning song “Stefania”.

During the parade of the 26 finalists of this year’s contest, viewers will have the opportunity to see a show with past representatives of Ukraine at Eurovision, namely Go_A, Jamala, Tina Karol and Verka Serduchka.

During the public vote, there will be a performance by Sam Ryder who returns to the competition after his appearance last year.

The final show that the Liverpool hosts have in store for the public is entitled ‘The Liverpool Songbook’ and is a tribute to the British city’s tradition in pop music. The protagonists will be Mahmood from Italy, Netta from Israel, Daði Freyr from Iceland, Cornelia Jakobs from Sweden, Duncan Laurence from the Netherlands and Sonia from Liverpool who, in Eurovision 1993, had given Britain second place. The six artists will perform songs linked to Liverpool’s musical tradition.

The hosts of the Eurovision final will be four. In particular, actress Hannah Waddingham, singer Alesha Dixon and Ukrainian singer Julia Sanina, who presented both semi-finals, while Graham Norton will be added to the team of presenters.
