The protagonist of the TV series “Friends” Matthew Perry is writing his memoirs.

Macmillan’s Flatiron Books has confirmed that it has acquired the rights to Matthew Perry’s first book.

The actor will take the readers behind the scenes and on the television set of the series and will also refer to his personal battle with drug addiction.

The description emphasizes that it is an honest book of self-knowledge with Perry’s humor.

“So much has been written about me by others in the past,” the actor told People. “I thought it was time for people to hear it directly from a reliable source. In this case, the reliable source is me, “he said.

Flatiron Books publisher Megan Leeds will edit the memoirs, which will be published in the fall of 2022.

“We need humor, we need clarification and we have to agree on something – and Matthew’s great story, told in his incomparable voice, is that thing. “Matthew’s book has unrivaled potential to unite people in an age of isolation and division,” Leeds said in a statement to Deadline.

Matthew Perry played Chandler Bing in “Friends,” which aired for 10 seasons on NBC from 1994 to 2002. The series co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kundrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer.
