The funk singer MC Kevin received tributes from the lawyer and influencer Deolane Bezerra and his mother, Valquíria Nascimento, this Tuesday (16), the day his death completed two years.
He died at age 23 after falling from a hotel balcony in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro.
“Two years have passed and it still seems like yesterday,” said Deolane, who was dating the singer. “It’s amazing how you remain alive in our hearts, we miss you every day. It’s inexplicable”.
Deolane also said that she will always love her “boy” and that he will always be part of her story.
On social networks, MC Kevin’s mother published photos of her baby son and said that he is missed. “I’m trying, son. It’s not easy here, but I promise I’ll take care of everything for you”, she said.
Valquíria also posted a photo in which she appears crying and saying that she is still trying to understand what happened to her son.
She and other family members went to the Parque dos Pinheiros cemetery, in the north of São Paulo, to visit the artist’s tomb.
“I wouldn’t wish that on anyone,” said MC Kevin’s mother. Valquíria said that she had a difficult day and showed flowers that she got from friends.
The police investigation into the singer’s death concluded that the fall from the balcony was an accident and dropped the inquiry. “A tragic but atypical fact, with no criminal legal provisions for those involved,” said the 16th Police Station of Rio de Janeiro in a statement.
Born in Vila Ede, a neighborhood in the north of São Paulo, MC Kevin had among his hits the songs “Pra Inveja É Bye”, “Cavalo de Troia” and “Vergonha pra Mídia”.
Full of young people, his wake took place at the samba school Unidos de Vila Maria and was attended by names such as MC Brinquedo, MC Livinho and MC Kekel, in addition to a fireworks section and applause.
