A mansion with more than one hundred rooms belonging to the singer José Rico (1946-2015), a millionaire duo, went up for auction in Limeira (148 km from SP).

According to information from the Regional Labor Court of the 15th Region, the property known as Castelo do José Rico was pledged to pay labor debts that amount to almost R$ 7 million

The initial valuation of the mansion is R$ 3.2 million. The lawsuit was filed by a former musician in his band who said he had rights to receive from the company that was in charge of the singer’s estate.

The former employee pleaded, in the first instance, 13th salary, severance pay, fine, FGTS, overtime, night shift premium and compensation for moral damages.

Already in the second instance, the TRT says that there were a series of appeals, both from the author and the estate. In the case of the request made by the author, there was only recognition of the change in the form of monetary correction.

Labor judge Marcelo Luis de Souza Ferreira, from the Regional Labor Court of the 15th Region (TRT-15), set the sentence at R$ 6.7 million.

Now, with the mansion seized by labor debts, the public can place a minimum bid of R$ 1.6 million and submission of proposals will be possible between June 13th and 19th.
