Award-winning actress Rachel Weisz guest on ‘The News Agents’ podcast revealed that she has had the heartbreaking experience of being fired for the dual lead role in ‘Dead Ringers’.

It is noted that the miniseries in which he stars is an adaptation of David Cronenberg’s psychological thriller of the same name. She plays gynecologists Beverly and Elliot Mandle who share a desire to push the boundaries of medical ethics for the benefit of women.

She told hosts Emily Maitlis and Jon Soppel that she was “surprised” by the backlash for some scenes in the series that included footage of childbirth or women experiencing a miscarriage. “They weren’t over-the-top or over-the-top… Women miscarry, I had one too. “All of a sudden you see blood running out of your body and it all becomes a piece that adds to a woman’s life,” says Weiss. “I think we’re not used to seeing all that on screen. Maybe this series will break new ground.”

Although she rarely talks about her husband Daniel Craig in interviews this time he stated that he was “relieved” that he was no longer playing James Bond because “he was getting injured doing the dangerous scenes himself. It’s a less stressful time for him.” At the same time she noted that “I’m very proud that he played Bond and I think he was wonderful.”
