Nath Finance says that presence in Conselhão de Lula is an inspiration for low-income audiences

An influencer who since 2019 has been giving financial tips aimed at the low-income public, Nathalia Rodrigues, Nath Finance, today has a content platform where she provides private consultations and also gives her insights on the financial market.

To these activities, she added another one at the beginning of May, when she became part of the Social, Economic and Sustainable Development Council of the government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). Called “Conselhão”, the group aims to mediate debates between power and civil society. Its members discuss agendas and measures, and the meetings generate recommendations to the president, who may or may not accept them.

The influencer, who also has a degree in administration, says that her name was indicated by Anielle Franco, Minister of Racial Equality, and later approved by Alexandre Padilha, Minister of Institutional Relations. She says that receiving the invitation aroused a certain incredulity in her. Nath thought the contact, via email and telephone, was a prank.

“It is a very big responsibility for someone who is 24 years old. Most of the people who are there have years of career, are owners and presidents of large companies, I am the youngest. But it brings the opportunity to speak with the low-income public. income, which is the reality in Brazil. And also show young people that we can reach leadership positions”, he says, in an interview with F5.

Nath celebrates the diversity of the initiative and the openness to different dialogues and opinions. “There are many things that need to be taken as an agenda. We need this Council more than ever. Not everyone is on the left. There are people who have different thoughts on some points, but who will contribute”, says the influencer, who at the government of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) suffered attacks on social networks for taking a stand against the then president.

“To contribute in this way to society under 30 years old is incredible and surreal. It is very incredible to have people in Conselhão who have already taken trains, subways and crowded buses, who live far from work. I am part of that group.” She claims that the work is voluntary. Nobody receives a dime, its members are there because they want to help the government think about public policies and listen to the people.

Work on the new venture has not yet started and Nath is already preparing for the group’s first meeting, scheduled for the last week of May. She made a list of subjects she wants to discuss, and at the top is the flag she believes is a priority: financial education in schools.

“This subject is essential, but we have to think about how it will be taught to students. That’s why I advocate that teaching be done in a transversal way, through lectures, optional discipline or training a teacher so that he can address the subject during classes. We can’t put one more subject taking others away. That’s what happens with New High School, which I disagree with.”

Even contributing to the government, the routine will not undergo major changes, as meetings will be virtual and trips to Brasilia, sporadic. But adding more tasks to the calendar was not an easy task for a multitasker like her.

“I have to tweet, share news about the financial market, produce content for my digital platform, Nath Play, provide consultancy and speak at companies,” she says. The influencer also has therapy sessions in her routine, which she considers essential. “It’s to deal with the imposter syndrome” (thoughts, more frequent in women, which reinforce the loss of self-confidence and the feeling that the success achieved was not deserved).

Among his short-term plans is to start studying economics. “Don’t ask me how I’m going to know how to manage time, I’m going to take a few subjects. I’m very happy, this is a year to specialize in the financial area. It gives butterflies in my stomach to go back to studying after I became Nath Finance”, he says .
