With an -almost- 2-hour documentary, Netflix approaches the unknown aspects of her life Anna Nicole Smith of the Playboy model, who lived in the 90s. Her career, her “scandalous” life and her mysterious death, at the age of only 39, are being explored, through unknown – until now – material and testimonies of people close to her.

The documentary titled “Anna Nicole Smith: You Don’t Know Me” has already been released on the platform, taking its own place in the audience’s top 10. However, for those of you who haven’t seen the documentary yet, let’s take a look back at her – if nothing else – particularly interesting life.

Her difficult childhood and violent marriage

In November 1967, Vickie Lynn Hogan, as Anna Nicole Smith’s real name, was born in Texas. At the age of just 2, her parents divorced and she grew up with her mother and her family, while she has 5 half-siblings from her father’s side, with whom, however, she lived only during the first 2 years of her life , while her parents were together.

She starts working at a fast food restaurant in Texas, where she also meets her first husband, Billy Wayne Smith. The two of them get married at the ages of 16 and 17 respectively and 2 years later they have a baby boy. Their relationship, however, does not develop well, as, as she claims, her husband begins to become abusive towards her and their son, which also leads to the end of their marriage. Anna Nicole Smith, however, does not intend to settle for the life of a single mother, as it had been until then. She leaves her son with her mother and starts working in a strip club in Houston. And that’s where it all started.
