Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have spoken out after being accused of exaggerating their description of last Wednesday’s paparazzi chase as “almost catastrophic”. The pronouncement comes in response to the taxi driver involved and the police.
Ashley Hanse, the couple’s representative, denied the accusations in an interview with The New York Times: “Respectfully, considering the history of the Duke’s family, no one would think anything about the couple or anyone associated with them to believe that this was some kind of marketing strategy”. “Frankly, I find it abhorrent,” she added.
Sukhcharn Singh, the driver of the taxi that transported the couple, told the Washington Post that he would not call the situation “stalking”. Likewise, New York police reported to the Reuters agency that there were no collisions, injuries or arrests in the incident and that they still helped escort Harry and Meghan’s private security team.
The couple’s disclosure note said that the persecution would have come close to a catastrophe. “This relentless pursuit, which lasted more than two hours, narrowly missed multiple collisions involving other drivers, pedestrians and two NYPD officers.”
