Iconic singer Celine Dion has announced she is canceling her ‘Courage’ tour as she continues to battle a rare neurological disorder, it was announced Friday.

“I’m so sorry to disappoint you all once again,” read the announcement posted on the singer’s social media. “I’m working really hard to get my strength back, but the tour can be very difficult even when you’re 100%. It’s not fair to you that we keep postponing shows, and even though it breaks my heart, it’s best to cancel everything now until I’m really ready to get back on stage. I want you all to know, I’m not giving up… and I can’t wait to see you again!”.

Celine Dion postponed several shows in December after announcing she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, a condition she said prevents her from “singing like I’m used to.”

It is “a rare, progressive syndrome that affects the nervous system, especially the brain and spinal cord,” according to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.

“While we’re still learning about this rare condition, we now know that it’s what’s causing all the seizures I’ve been having,” Dion said at the time. “Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulty when walking and preventing me from using my vocal cords to sing as I am used to.”

Tickets for her concerts will be refunded from the point of purchase.
