For the first time in Brazil, sisters Danielle, Alana and Este from the Haim trio surprised fans by revealing that they are passionate about Brazilian culture. But the surprise was even greater when the bassist and vocalist Este hummed an excerpt from one of her favorite songs: “Ilariê”.
“I was a big fan of Brazilian music, and one of my heroines was a woman called Xuxa”, confessed Este, who also said that before the concert at Festival Mita, this Sunday (28), he even sent a message to Xuxa Meneghel, but had no response.
Little did she know, that the presenter was watching the show on television and was moved by the American’s statement. “How exciting, I heard, saw and received your beautiful affection, Este Haim”, wrote the presenter on social networks.
The Haim sisters are representatives of indie pop and performed a show with a repertoire focused on the band’s latest album, “Women in Music Pt. III” (2020), but they also sang some hits from the first album, “Days Are Gone” ( 2013), which completed 10 years. The song chosen for the end of the show was “The Steps”.
Already backstage, Este, Danielle and Alana did not hide the joy after the first show in Brazil. “I can’t believe I’m here. I love you so much, Rio. Thank you so much for having us. See you next time”, said Alana in a live interview for Multishow.
