“Our principles are in line with what the Greek legal order imposes,” states, among others, the European Children’s Film Association (ECFA), which awarded “Shower Boys” with the Best Short Film Award
The European Children’s Film Association (ECFA) issued a statement regarding the reactions caused by the screening of the Swedish short film “Boys in the Shower” (Shower Boys) in a primary school in Athens.
Entitled “On the film ‘Shower Boys’ and the moral panic about cinema in education”, the statement from the European Children’s Film Association (ECFA) makes it clear that it openly supports the right to expression, while raising some very important questions about the role of the school in the education of the children.
ECFA is a body that collectively represents the community of all bodies involved in connecting the art of cinema with childhood and education in Europe (consisting of 163 members from 42 countries). In 2022 he awarded the movie “Shower Boys” with the Best Short Film Award.
