Rap icon Tupac Shakur will be honored posthumously with a star at Walk of Fame in Hollywood. The sister of the late artist Sekyiwa “Set” Shakur, will be present at the ceremony and receive the honor on June 7 on Hollywood Boulevard.

“Tupac Shakur was a rapper, actor, activist, poet and revolutionarysaid Hollywood Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez. “The iconic artist continued to be a part of the cultural climate for decades after his death and will continue to be an important cultural figure for many years to come.“, he said.

“For sure, Tupac’s star will be added to the list of most visited stars“, he added. The “California Love” rapper, who was murdered in 1996 at the age of 25, had a successful music and film career, influencing the hip-hop genre and amassing a global fan base. He has sold over 75 million records worldwide and his albums ‘All Eyez on Me’ and ‘Greatest Hits’ went diamond.

Earlier this month, Shakur was honored by the city of Oakland, California, whose city council voted to rename the street “Tupac Shakur Way.”
