by

Civil Police arrested one of the suspects in the death of actor Jeff Machado this Friday morning (2). The male prostitute Jeander Vinícius da Silva Braga, 29, was found in the Rio de Janeiro neighborhood of Campo Grande and taken to the police station. Bruno de Souza Rodrigues, 37, named as the second suspect, is already considered a fugitive.

Jeander tried to flee but was captured. The operation continues on the streets to find Bruno. It was 5 am this Friday when the police began executing the temporary arrest warrant for those accused in the case. The information had been confirmed in an official note from the Court of Justice of RJ, on the night of this Thursday (1), to the F5.

The temporary arrest of the two was previously requested by the Civil Police and the Public Ministry of Rio. “The investigation is being carried out in secrecy of Justice. As such, we do not have access to more information”, concludes the note.

The two suspects were indicted for triple murder and concealment of a corpse. Jeff’s corpse was found in a trunk, hidden and concreted on the ground of a rented house, in Campo Grande, in the west of the city.

In a press conference, Bruno Rodrigues’ defense spoke again of the innocence of the TV producer and former Globo employee, but admitted his participation in the concealment of the artist’s body.

The lawyers also cited the presence of a third person at the scene of the crime – this person, according to the statement given by Bruno to the police, would be the actor’s killer. The version is contested by the police and lawyers for Machado’s family.
