The Happy Traveller continues his travels to beautiful parts of Greece and the Saturday June 3rdexplores him Letter from the side of Kastoria.
Our travelers start from the points where four prefectures of our country join – Ioannina, Grevena, Kozani and Kastoria. They go to Eptachori where they see an old watermill and an old picturesque arched bridge. Then they drive on one of the most beautiful mountain roads in Greece to reach the New Kotiliwhere the guest house is located at an altitude of 1450 meters.
The next morning they pass through the village Pine and they go up towards one of the most mountainous rural villages of our country, the village Letter, also known as Grammusta. From there they start the route up the mountain to reach the highest lake in Greece, the alpine dragon lake Gistova.
They continue their hike to the top of Grammos, the fourth highest mountain in Greece, and “conquer” the top Chuka Petsik at 2,520 meters from where they enjoy the impressive view.
Returning to Nea Kotili from another road, they pass the National Reconciliation Park and the imposing Cliff of Charo with its breathtaking vertical white cliffs. They also take a walk in the center of Nea Kotili and then go down to Nestorius for a dip in the cool waters of the Aliakmonas river.
They end their excursion with a picnic at the top of the hill above Nestorio where the chapel of the Holy Spirit is located.
Another exciting trip to Greek locations with enchanting natural beauties, impressive landscapes and unique experiences.
