Thiago Wild speaks about accusations of domestic violence by his ex-wife

One day after the second consecutive victory at Roland Garros, one of the four biggest tennis championships in the world, Thiago Wild spoke this Friday (2) about the accusations of physical, emotional and psychological violence he has received from his ex-wife, Thayane Lime. The tennis player from Paraná number 2 in Brazil and 129th in the world is being investigated for the complaints made by the influencer two years ago.

Wild defended himself in a clarifying note giving his version of the facts after Thayane’s publication on the networks mocking the athlete’s victories: “He became a better person”.

“Due to recent publications in the media and social networks, containing the most diverse untrue and defamatory statements about me, I come to the public to provide some clarifications”, begins the tennis player in the publication. “Above all I want to remember and reinforce that there was no trial, so I cannot be found guilty.”

The tennis player then continued. “I still haven’t received the citation warrant issued by the Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro because I no longer have a fixed residence in Brazil. I spent the last few months training in Argentina or competing in other countries. The same happens with the other part, which also wasn’t cited for not residing in Brazil. In any case, my lawyers have already notified the Justice of my parents’ address in Paraná”, he added.

This is the second time Thiago has spoken out on the subject. In September 2021, a month after the allegations surfaced, he released a statement stating that Thayane would have demanded payment of “exorbitant amounts” for the breakup of the relationship and, according to him, made threats of a publicly defamatory campaign.

Two months earlier, Thayane had registered a police report against the tennis player in Rio, in which he denounced having been the victim of verbal, psychological and even physical aggression by Thiago, with whom he would have a stable relationship for just over a year. The couple lived in Barra da Tijuca. After the complaint, the police began to investigate Wild for the crimes of psychological violence, injury and bodily injury.

He was indicted in October 2021 and, six months later, denounced by the Rio Public Ministry for domestic and psychological violence. The process runs in secrecy of Justice.
