BBB 22: Douglas Silva has already been nominated for an Emmy and says he is ‘people like us’

Actor Douglas Silva, 33, is another member of the Camarote group of Big Brother Brasil 22 (Globo). The artist, who was confirmed this Friday (14), is from Rio de Janeiro, has been married for 13 years and has two daughters. In addition, he has around 390,000 followers on Instagram and has already been nominated for an International Emmy.

Douglas became known for playing Dadinho in the film “City of God” (2002), nominated for an Oscar in 2004, in the categories of best director, cinematography, editing and adapted screenplay. He was also Acerola in the series “Cidade dos Homens” (Globo, 2007), a work that earned him an Emmy nomination in 2005.

The artist also worked on soap operas and series, such as “Amor de Mãe” (Globo, 2019-2021), “Samantha!” (Netflix, 2018–2019), “Caminho das Índias” (Globo, 2009) and in films such as “Essay on Blindness” (2008). And he was in films like “Last Stop 174” (2008) and “Malasartes and the Duel with Death” (2017).

Raised in Complexo da Maré, by his mother and grandmother, he says he had a happy childhood despite the difficulties. He has been married since 2008 to Carolina Brito, with whom he has two daughters, Maria Flor and Morena. The actor claims to be “people like us” and considers himself a fun and high-spirited person.

“I value peace, I hate to argue, but after I enter [em uma briga], it’s hard to leave”, analyzes he, who says he likes to give an opinion. In the most watched house in Brazil, he says he will play, but “without belittling anyone because it’s not my nature”.

“Every opportunity we have to take one more step and improve our family, we should take it”, he says. In 2018, Douglas said, in an interview with F5, who despite enjoying making series would like to dedicate himself more to cinema.

“To this day, people call me Acerola on the streets because of ‘Cities of Men’. It’s a character that stayed on TV for a long time. I love doing series and my career has a series trajectory”, he said at the time. “But I still want to do more cinema,” he added.

In addition to Douglas, other names such as Jade Picon, Maria, Pedro Scooby and Arthur Aguiar were confirmed in the cast of the 22nd edition of the reality, which debuts next Monday (17). The edition marks the debut of Tadeu Schmidt in the presentation and repeats the dynamics of bringing famous and anonymous people to compete for the prize.
