Showtime is not moving forward with Carolyn Such’s documentary about comedian Louis CK, according to Variety. The feature-length doc was announced by Paramount Global executive producer David Nevins at the Edinburgh Television Festival in Scotland last summer. Nevins resigned in October following an internal reshuffle.

Such previously directed the Netflix documentary “Blackpink: Light Up the Sky”about K-Pop superstars Blackpink, was also set to direct the Louis SK documentary, which would follow the rise and fall of the comedian and the wider #MeToo movement over the past six years.

At the time the project was revealed, Nevins said the New York Times reporters who broke the story of SK’s sexual misconduct were involved in the documentary.

I don’t think the social change that #MetToo has brought about has provided solutions,” Nevins said last summer. “There is a bit of a backlash against #MeToo, who has to go, but also who is allowed to come backi”. “Louis SK is a slightly different case [από τον Χάρβεϊ Γουάινστιν] and a great, great comedian who came back in his own way“, he added.

In 2017, the New York Times published a report in which five women said they had been sexually harassed by SK. The industry reacted quickly, with companies like Netflix and FX immediately dropping him from a number of projects. The comedian has since performed stand-up shows and last year released his first film since the scandal broke, titled ‘Fourth of July’.
