Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are cutting ties with Spotify, just three years after the $20 million deal. The couple’s podcast, “Archetypes,” will not be renewed for a second season, despite topping the charts last year, a source confirmed to the New York Post. The source added that the pair did not produce enough content to receive the full multi-million dollar fee.

In a joint statement, Spotify and Archewell Audio said that “they mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together». However, it seems the couple may change their minds if they receive a better offer from another company.

Sources close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as the “Daily Mail” writes, claimed that the couple will stop making Netflix documentaries, publishing memoirs and giving interviews that “hit” the royal family, as they have not “nothing else to say.”

This fact comes as the Spotify has announced that it will lay off around 200 staff members – about 2% of its workforce – who work on the podcast teams. He cited difficulties in making the podcast profitable, despite its popularity among listeners.
