The artistic duo from Valencia, PichiAvo, continue to adorn high-rise buildings in various cities around the world with colorful murals.

Known for combining figures from ancient Greek mythology with tags synonymous with graffiti art, they recently completed a mural in Mérida, near the Spanish city’s famous Roman hippodrome, in which, in their words, “we painted a new version of the Venus del Mitreo, which is on display at the Museo Nacional del Arte Romano also in Mérida. Our proposal consists of a reconstruction of the bust (since the Venus del Mitreo is a headless statue), inspired by the Syracuse-type Aphrodite from the National Archaeological Museum of Athens, since we found the similarity between the two works very fruitful».

Wall paintings

A few days ago, they completed a new mural called “Three Graces” in Montreal, Canada. The mural, realized in collaboration with the Mural Festival 2023, was the occasion of PichiAvo’s new solo exhibition there, with the same title in the art room S16 Gallery. The exhibition ends on July 9.
