Today, Prince William and heir to the British throne turns 41, and King Charles shared a sweet post on the royal family’s official social media.

“Wishing the Prince of Wales a very happy birthday today,” the caption read alongside a snap from rehearsals for the Coronation ceremony in which they can be seen smiling as William helps him through such an important moment for him.

On Twitter, users sent their own wishes to the popular prince.

Prince William Arthur Philip Louis of Wales was born at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London on 21 June 1982.

At just nine months old, he accompanied his parents on a six-week official visit to Australia and New Zealand.

He was just 15 and his brother Harry was 12 when they walked behind their mother’s coffin during the funeral procession in London.

William met Kate Middleton at the University of St. Andrews in the historic county of Fife, Scotland. They married in 2011 after dating for more than eight years and have three children together.
